Did you know that you can break down the journey from Hobbiton to Mt. Doom and back into actual miles?
My personal goal is to walk the equivalent amount of miles before the new year (2014).
If you'd like to join my fellowship and embark on this quest as well, then visit the spreadsheet, add your name/handle, set up whatever pedometer/tracker you want to use, and check in at each location as you arrive. I'll be updating my distance in current miles weekly on Wednesday.

So, Anne...your personal goal is to walk 1700 miles before 2014? Cuz I'm positive you're going to beat me.
ReplyDeleteWell from what I understand, if I had started on January 1st, I would have had to walk 5 miles a day to make it in one year, so technically, since I'm starting a few months late, I have a LOT of ground to make up for. It definitely helps that I'm a tour guide, but I'm getting in as much walking as possible!
DeleteAlso! It's not a race! I just want us all to get there! I'm going to have to think of how to celebrate when each of us arrives!

DeleteSigning up. I did the math, 7 miles a day from today if I want to do it by 2014. Whew.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you did the math! Now I know what I have to do! I've just been trying to cram in as many miles a day as I can, which is nice and all... BUT! that's so good to know! :) I'll adjust my fitbit goal thing so that it will encourage me to get the right amount a week! Welcome to our Fellowship!
